Apple CarPlay and ChatGPT
How to make ChatGPT work with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Home » Apple CarPlay and ChatGPT
Alright, this one’s a bit off-topic, but it’s a Friday and well why not… it’s still useful for your trading.
Let me share with you a neat productivity hack I recently discovered.
Do you use Apple Car Play? (probably works for Android Auto too.)
We all know the voice commands in cars are awful, even the so-called premium brands can’t seem to get it right.
So most of us use our phones to connect to Apple Car Play or Android Auto.
You get better access to music, podcasts, calls, messages etc.
And we’ve all heard of or used Chat GPT.
A neat little AI tool you can ask anything.
Anyway…
I figured out a way to hook up Apple car play to Chat GPT
Yes, this means you can now speak directly to chat GPT in the car, via voice!
Now when you’re driving along you can ask Chat GPT anything you want.
- Explain index rebalancing to me,
- Give me some quotes from the best traders,
- Tell me about VWAP algos,
- Explain an Iron condor option strategy
You get the idea…
You can be listening to a podcast interview with a trader, pause the episode and then go and ask ChatGPT to explain something to you, all whilst driving.
Gotta love tech.
Here’s how you do it (for iPhone)
Install the Open AI – ChatGPT app on your phone.
Go to shortcuts and add a new shortcut:
- Add action
- Apps
- Select ChatGPT
- Choose GPT-4
- Name it something like “Ask ChatGPT”
Now all you need to do is use Siri and say “Ask ChatGPT”
Siri then asks you “What would you like to ask ChatGPT”
Now you can have a conversation with ChatGPT and ask it anything you want whilst driving.
It’s like having a genius passenger who only talks about the topics you want…
Anyway, I think it’s cool, you can get trading book summaries, ask about strategies, get explanations about economic data, and anything to level up your knowledge.
Try it out this weekend.
