If there’s one way ChatGPT can really help, it’s by maintaining a consistent trading process and keeping your discipline on point.

The idea?

Create your very own Trading Accountability Buddy.

Here’s how it works:

Tell ChatGPT:
“I want you to act as my trading accountability buddy. Each morning, ask me these pre-market questions one by one and challenge my answers to ensure I’ve thought them through properly.”

Then paste in your pre-market checklist, like this:

Market Conditions

  • Have you checked the overnight news and global markets?
  • What’s the pre-market trend for the S&P 500, NASDAQ, or Dow?
  • Are there any major economic reports or events scheduled today?

Watchlist

  • Have you updated your watchlist for the day?
  • Are there any stocks gapping up or down significantly in pre-market?
  • What are the key levels (support/resistance) for your top 3 tickers?

Trading Plan

  • What setups are you looking for today (trend continuation, reversals, etc.)?
  • What are your planned entries, stop-losses, and targets for each trade?
  • Do you have alternative scenarios if the market doesn’t behave as expected?

Risk Management

  • What is your max risk per trade and for the day?
  • Have you double-checked your position sizing calculations?
  • Is there a plan to avoid overtrading if conditions aren’t favourable?

Mental Prep

  • How are you feeling today? (Stressed, focused, tired?)
  • Do you have a plan to stay disciplined and avoid impulsive trades?
  • Have you reviewed yesterday’s trades to learn from them?

Here’s what happens:

1️⃣ ChatGPT will ask you each question individually, waiting for your response.
2️⃣ It’ll challenge your answers to ensure you’ve considered them thoroughly.
3️⃣ Once done, it can summarise your answers and even highlight areas to improve.
