Figgie - The Prop Firm Trading Game by Jane Street
A Fast-Paced Trading Game Built by One of the World’s Top Quant Firms
Jane Street is the real proprietary trading firm you’ve never heard of.
They specialise in quant models and high-frequency trading strategies, and they must be killing it because I read in the FT the other week that they’re looking to take another 500,000 sq ft of office space in Central London.
C’mon… who’s expanding office space these days?!
Oh, and apparently, they’re making $1 billion per month…
(If you’re young, into coding, and fancy a trading career, this has to be one to consider)
But that’s not why I’m bringing them up today.
Turns out, Jane Street built a trading game.
And it’s actually pretty damn good.
FIGGIE - The Trading Game for Market Nerds
Figgie is designed to simulate the core elements of trading.
You trade cards of different suits, trying to figure out which one holds value in each round.
The game forces you to think fast, trade, and make quick decisions under ‘pressure’.
It takes a couple of rounds to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll start developing your own style.
Personally? I like to be opportunistic… sniping premium or discount prices while I’m trying to work out the goal suit.
(I know that probably makes zero sense reading it here… but trust me, it will if you play it.)

A pretty cool game to play while waiting for your fill…
