How to Turn Any Trading Video Into an Actionable Plan with AI

Watching trading videos isn’t enough
Here’s how to actually apply them.

Ever watched a trading video, thought “That’s gold”… and then completely forgot to apply it?

Or maybe you saved a good video, knowing it’s probably packed with value, but never got around to watching it?

We’ve all been there…

Most traders watch YouTube, nod along, and then… nothing changes. They know what to do but don’t actually do it.

There’s a better way:

📌 Find a solid video from someone you respect

📌 Grab the transcript (YouTube auto-generates captions—just copy & paste)

📌 Use ChatGPT to extract key takeaways

📌 Turn it into a structured process you can actually follow

HERE’S HOW

For example, I took a 3-minute video from trading psychologist Brett Steenbarger and turned it into this post-trade checklist:

After copying the transcript into ChatGPT, use this prompt:

👉 “Here is a transcript from a trading video. Summarise the key takeaways and create an actionable checklist that a trader can use to apply these insights in real-time. The checklist should be simple, practical, and structured for daily use.”

Then let AI do its magic… tweak if needed, and you get something like this:

👇 Post-Trade Review Checklist 👇

✅ Did I trade the right setup? (Best opportunity? Good risk-reward?)
✅ Did I execute well? (Good entry? Proper size? Followed my plan?)
✅ Did I manage it right? (Adjusted for market volatility? Took profits correctly?)
✅ Did I stick to my rules? (Or did emotions take over?)
✅ What’s one thing I’ll improve next session? (And how will I apply it?)

Pretty good…

Now, imagine doing this for:

🔥 Mark Douglas on risk management
🔥 Paul Tudor Jones on execution
🔥 Jason Shapiro on strategy

(I actually ran an hour-long Jason Shapiro video through ChatGPT and asked it to summarise his strategy into a simple trading plan… it did a really nice job of distilling his approach down into simple rules.)

Anyway, the sky’s the limit here.

You can work backwards from what you want to improve and hunt down the right video, or watch something valuable and turn it into a structured process.

Either way, hopefully you can see how useful this can really be.

Have fun…
